Sisters' Style: Callie's Picks Silk Blouse

So obviously I'm late for this and this top is not longer available at the Starplaza.

Hi there by the way, It's Judith, I'm still alive and around, even if you've only heard from Mireia lately on The Stylish Stardoll Sisters. Good news, I'll try to post something from time to time so you don't miss me ðŸ˜‰.

Now let's get on with what actually brings me here: Sisters' Style time.

This picture with our two outfits was actually taken on November 2017, yes, I know it's been a year, but I thought it would be a pity to just throw it away so here I am, posting it anyway.

To be honest I think this top is a good purchase. Worth giving it a try and looking for it on the starbazaar I guess, cause it was available for starcoins and it's actually nice and versatile. It has a pinkish shade but it's almost white so it's very easy to combine. Plus, it has some cut outs on the shoulders and transparencies on the bottom that give it a tiny little twist that makes it more interesting.

We could have styled it in a million ways but the sister genes got in the way and we both went for almost all white looks that makes our outfits look quite similar. The styles of each one is the only thing that differs: Mireia's more informal, with ripped jeans and big platform boots, and mine's a little bit more girly with colorful sunnies, heels and a Chanel vibes shoulder bag.

We both decided to match the transparencies in the top with more transparencies too. Mireia used this Antidote bag that looks really cool with the addition of the white clutch inside, and I went for heeled sandals with transparent straps.

As you can see, if this was a game of "find the differences" it would suck, cause other than the style and little details here and there I can't comment on anything else. So I'm going to save your time and stop rambling about nothing.

This is the result guys, go look for the top on the starbazaar and prove everyone how you can style this top in very different ways.

Store Statement: Fendi Tribute

Well, hello there! It's been a while since the last Store Statement. Let me remind you what we were doing in here. We are reviewing all the Tributes that were launched during Christmas 2017. We started with Versace (click here to check it out), and now, as you may have guessed for the tittle, it's time for Fendi!

Fendi came with three new floors. I have to say that at first sight I was not very excited about this Tribute, but when I payed close attention to each item individually I liked a couple of pieces. Let's dive right into it.

The Collection.

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Come back soon for the next tribute review!!

PS. If anyone is selling the monogram Fendi jacket, please let me know. Since I saw Chiara Ferragni wearing it I'm regretting every day not buying it when the Tribute was available.

EDIT: I FOUND IT on the Starbazaar! This is the outfit I made with it:

Seen on FM-Stye: Disco Ball | Cycle 15 - Task 1

Here we are with the review of the first task!

From now on we are gonna do the recaps with all the entries from the contestants not just our favorites. In that way, the cycle can be followed almost entirely from the blog.

Cycle 15 - Task 1: Disco Ball
For the first task the concept is very simple. Create an outfit with sequin. Your outfit has to contain glitter and shine.

In FM-Style, first task has always been characterized for being the opportunity for contestants to show their own style, so don’t go simple and put all your creativity into it. Surprise the judges!

This task was taken from Task 5, on Cycle 4. That cycle winner was MissEquilibrium, who is not on Stardoll anymore. Click here to check the Imgur Album from that cycle.

The Inspiration.

The Judges' Examples.

The Contestants' Entries.

Hello everyone, Judith here.
Task 1 has left Mireia blind with all that shine and sparkle so I'm going to be doing the review. Get yourself comfortable and enjoy the reading.

When we picked the tasks for this commemorative cycle we chose Disco Ball as the first one cause it was a kind of free task (you could go for any style you felt more comfortable with) but at the same time it had a restriction (hello sequin) that made it a bit of a challenge (since it's not something that we wear everyday). I don't think neither Mireia nor I are big fans of sequin, it's not that we don't like it, cause it's fine, but we don't have that many sequined items or wear it too much, not even for parties, so when we talked about putting this task we both agreed that particular condition could leave us with some amazing and different (out of the box) outfits. And it did! It probably had more to do with the fact that these contestants (hello new faces! hello loyal faces!) are so good than with what the task asked, but still... High five sis!

Not everything went out perfectly though. It has been a quite popular approach to go all in with the sequin. Half of the contestants used more than 1 sequined item and quite a few more than 2, something that surprised me cause we never said or suggested that the more sequin the better, it was just an approach. Unfortunately in most cases this didn't work out for the best and left us with some "could-be-improved" outfits, but hey! It's ok cause there were also two people that didn't complete the task which means no one's getting eliminated, which means that we're going to be that improving for sure in next task.

On the other hand, some managed to make that sequin power work and Rawan (bornthiswaay) stole the show (again! hello winner of cycle 11!) using two main sequined items (top and pants). I'm not going to lie, it was my favourite outfit in this task too, along with Michal's (MajkaStar1999).

Other things I liked were: the elegant edgyness of Janette (janetteLow), Kat's (pandaribbon) cool shoes, the super mysterious vibes of Sandra (dobrapogoda) and the cool rockstar vibes of Marion (lolo72270).

You can see it for yourselves: there's level, there's high standards, there's style and there's TALENT. Don't miss out on this cycle! You can fully follow it on The Stylish Stardoll Sisters where we'll be reviewing week after week or on the club, where Task 2 has already been announced.

Shopping: RIO

Mireia here again!
I was reading the new posts on my favorite blogs, and I came across with this comp in our partner blog SMW: "Ugly Duckling Comp: Part 2". It's a competition hosted by one of our judges in FM-Style, Lucy (SunnySidesSue), where you have to style a not-nice piece of clothing that was previously described on Part 1 (click here to check the entries and the winner's description).

The thing is that I went to try and style this piece at the store it belongs to, RIO. Suddenly, this pain came to my eyes as I was browsing through those virtual hangers with those hideous/tacky clothes... But then I started paying a bit more attention, and I realized there were some pieces that were actually not that bad. And then ideas for stylings started coming to my beautiful sometimes-not-very-useful brain. I was wanting to REALLY buy things, FROM RIO! Can you believe that? That's when I decided to create this post, to try to enlighten your lives and so you can see, there's life even after RIO.

First I want to show you what I had already bought on my own before deeply exploring the store:

The interesting part of this post comes now though, cause there were A LOT of items I ended up liking. Maybe I have a broad taste? Anyway, to present them better to you I've created various outfits marking the RIO items I've used.

And that is all for this post, I really hope you enjoyed it, and I highly recommend that if someday you're bored, explore those Starplaza stores and try new pieces! You will be highly surprised as I was today!

See you next time!

Seen on FM-Style: When The Sun Goes Down

Here we are back again with the review of the final of Cycle 14, the first Team Cycle ever hosted (that I know of). If you're up to date with us in Stardoll, you may have noticed that Cycle 15 is already accepting applications. If you didn't know that, now you know, so don't wait any longer and join the stardoll club: FM-Style, and once in there... If you think you have what it takes to be a part of the competition, APPLY on the topic.

Cycle 15 is a cycle to celebrate the 5th Anniversary  of the club. It's amazing (and a bit terrfying) how fast time goes by. As we have done a huge amount of different tasks, for this celebration (besides sponsoring the cycle ourselves) we are taking one task for each cycle that we've done before. Those tasks are our favorites or the ones that our club members suggested. There will be 16 contestants chosen for this Cycle and will last if everything goes right until the end of June.

That being said...

Welcome to the first ever #TeamCycle !

Task 10: When The Sun Goes Down (FINAL)
So, in case you haven’t noticed, we’re in the final. There’s a theme for this final but this theme it’s quite open, the concept you go for and creativity have a lot of importance in this task, so I would recommend putting a lot of though in what’s behind the final picture you deliver before creating the outfits.

That said, the theme and title of this task is “When the sun goes down”, meaning you have to create outfits related to the world of the night. As you can see there are a lot of possible approaches: party, concerts, drugs, galas and events, night jobs, etc. As a team you have to decide what are you going to do about it (a story behind the picture, everybody representing the same aspect, each team member representing a different thing all related to the theme…). Complete freedom, but make sure it’s cool, it has a meaning and that meaning is understandable. A proper photoshoot with all the prep and ideas behind it included.

Minimum outfits: 2 (1 each team member)

Maximum outfits: 6 (3 each team member)

Inspiration Album:

For us, this task required being original and delivering something different at the same time that fashion forward and even a bit editorial-ish (just look at the picture from the inspo). Usually, inspiration albums are not just picture to get you inspired but something similar to what are we looking for. We were really looking forward for the final entries of this two powerful teams that were SHADES and Sarcasm. And what they were going to do was what was going to be decisive in who will win the cycle and get crowned as THE winning team.

Those were the entries from the finalists with the score they got next to their name:

1. SHADES - 8.81

2.  Sarcasm. - 7.50

SHADES were super original with the theme and went for representing drugs that are usually consumed at night. Each member of shades created 3 outfits, delivering the maximum amount of outfits allowed, and their creations represented the stages of the consumption of two different drugs. Patricia (ManiakPupili) based her outfits on LSD and Fede (FedericoMosi) on cocaine.
On the other team, Sarcasm.'s theme was more simple, representing a squad going out. Outfits were very modern and well put together, but I think the simplicity of the theme behind it compared to all the work and creativity that SHADES delivered was what made that SHADES were declared winners of Cycle 14!

This was a super fun cycle to watch but more difficult to organize. We had to create a new figure, the coach, that was handling various teams to help teams to deliver the final entry giving advice without interfering and having in mind the deadlines. They had to make sure their teams were getting along fine and working on the tasks since the beginning, as when you work in a group you can't depend only on yourself and do it last minute. Despite the nerves and stress that this cycle cause, specially to contestants (we seriously apologized for that), I think it has showed how powerful team outfits are and that even if it is a bit hard at the beginning, working in teams can increase the creativity.

We already gave huge thanks to everyone involved in this cycle, whether you've been a contestants, judge, coach or even if you just followed the cycle. THANK YOU! FM-Style would not be happening if there weren't people committed to it.

Don't forget to join FM-Style if you haven't yet! 🖤
And remember... Applications for Cycle 15 are open !!

Seen on FM-Style: All Around The World

Before we get into the semi-final review of FM-Style's Team Cycle, we're going to use this post to make a little announcement:

FM-Style is making 5 years! Wohooo!!
We want to celebrate properly so keep your eyes on the club cause something's definitely coming and we're already preparing it so get over there if you haven't done it yet!

Now let's get back to reviewing this brand new amazing cycle we created back this summer. We were in the semi-finals and the game was strong.

Welcome to the first ever #TeamCycle !

Task 9: All Around The World (SEMI-FINAL)
Welcome semifinalists!!! Yes, we’re in the semifinals, that means this task and one more and the Team Cycle will come to an end. 😔

But before we say goodbye we want to go everywhere with you. For the semifinal you have to create different outfits inspired by different countries in the world. One country MUST NOT be repeated in the same team.

Think of tradional food, signature places/things of that country, style for what it’s known of… And represent it in an EDITORIAL OUTFIT.

No cohesion needed for the task as each team member will be representing a different country, but any common details or ideas to unify the task will be highly taken into consideration.

Inspiration Album:

This task was kind of sentimental for us. That fashion photoshoot featured in the inspiration album belonged to the first issue of a fashion magazine we bought. We could say it was the moment in which we felt head over heels for this industry. And because of that, our expectations for our teams were high. Let's see if they reached them:

Those were the semifinalists' entries, next to the score they got:

1. SHADES - 7.95

2.  The Flaming Jalapeño Gang - 7.55

3. Sarcasm. - 8.09

Now we're not gonna pick three favorites, as they were only 3 teams left. Clearly, for the judges the winner was Sarcasm and I have to agree with the final decision. Sarcasm. was for me the best on this task. SHADES created a great entry, but was more focused in representing traditions instead of cultures as it's hole. I had a special affection for my own team, The Flaming Jalapeño Gang, and I thought back then that theirs was the best. Looking back at it right now, I still love the entry, specially how they presented it, but I think that maybe their outfits are super cool but are not as culture representative as Sarcasm. Still, amazing entry as well.

However, the judges did not agree with me in that one, and the ones who got eliminated were in fact my beloved Jalapeños. Meaning that SHADES and Sarcasm. went to the Cycle Final, which will we review as soon as possible and ideally before Cycle 15 starts. ;)

Next review on the blog: THE FINAL !
